Money you can move, and money we can trace.
Solariem is two things. A multi-currency account for holding and moving your money. And a team that traces transfers taken by fraud, then acts on them through the banks and the courts involved.
Opening an account is free, and we charge no recovery fee unless funds actually come back to you. If they do, we take 15–25% of what actually arrived. If nothing comes back, no success fee is due.
We hold money for you, and money we recover on a case is credited to the account it belongs to. Balances held with us are not covered by any deposit guarantee scheme, and we cannot promise that a particular case will succeed.
3 services. One set of records.
Because we both hold accounts and pursue claims, the people tracing your money already understand how it moved.
One account, many currencies
Open an account and hold money in the currencies you actually use. Move it between them without leaving the platform, and see every movement on one statement. Money recovered on a case is credited to the account it belongs to, so recovered funds land in the same place as everything else you hold. Money you hold with us does not carry the deposit protection of a bank current account, so read the account agreement before you fund an account, and ask us anything in it that is unclear.
Multi-currency accountsTracing money that was taken
When money leaves your account because of a scam, the first job is to establish exactly where it went and who received it. We work that out from transaction records, then take the next step: a recall request to the sending bank, a freeze application where one is available, or a claim through the courts. Some cases end in a full return, some in a partial one, and some recover nothing. We cannot promise a result before we have seen the evidence.
Asset recoveryFollow your case
Every open case has a reference. Enter it to see the stage it has reached, what we are waiting on, and what we need from you. If a case has stalled, the reason is usually a document we could not obtain from a third party, and it will be listed there.
Case tracking
What can be recovered, and how.
The payment method decides almost everything. The table below is the honest version of what is possible, ordered from strongest position to weakest.
Speed matters more than anything else. A recall only works while the money is still in the receiving account, so the first call to make is always to your own bank.
How you paid
Time you have
Position
What we do
Card payment
Usually 120 days from the statement
Strongest position
We file a chargeback with the acquiring bank and, where the merchant took goods or services they never delivered, a Section 75 claim. This is the one route that does not depend on the money still being in the same account.
UK Faster Payment or SEPA transfer
Hours, occasionally up to a few days
Good if the receiving account is still open
A Faster Payment can sometimes be stopped, but only while the funds have not left the receiving account. We send a recall request to the sending bank immediately and pursue a freeze where one is available.
SWIFT or international wire
Often one to two days
Depends entirely on the receiving bank
We identify the beneficiary bank and file a formal request to freeze or return the funds. Where that fails we issue proceedings through counsel in the receiving jurisdiction.
Cryptocurrency transfer
Minutes. There is no recall.
Weakest position
We identify the receiving wallet address, determine which exchange or custodian controls it, and file a legal claim against that exchange. A chargeback does not exist here. Recovery usually depends on the exchange holding the funds and on a court order reaching it.
Cheque or bank transfer taken in person
Days to weeks
Poor, but not always hopeless
Cheque fraud is handled by the bank under its own indemnity rules, and outcomes are often poor. We review the case anyway because the circumstances sometimes support a separate claim against the person who obtained the funds.
How a recovery case moves.
Five stages. You can check where yours has reached at any point using the reference we give you.
You send us the details
Bank statements, transaction references, and any messages you received. We will tell you if something is missing.
We establish where the money went
We identify the receiving accounts and the institutions that hold them. This is the step that decides whether a case is worth pursuing.
We file with the institutions involved
Recall requests, freeze applications, and formal complaints are filed through the sending bank and the receiving institution.
We escalate through the courts if needed
Where an institution will not act on its own, we issue proceedings through counsel in the relevant jurisdiction.
Funds are returned and the fee is calculated
Your share is calculated on the amount that actually reached you, and the success fee is invoiced at that point. It is not charged earlier.
The fraud patterns we work on most.
Seven schemes account for most of the cases we see. Recognising yours tells us quickly whether there is anything worth tracing.
- Business email compromise
- An email appears to come from a supplier or a director asking for a payment to new bank details. The real thread has been hijacked, or the sender is impersonating them well. Common in accounting fraud, and frequently inside otherwise careful companies.
- Authorised push payment fraud
- You were convinced to make the payment yourself, by someone who had researched you. Investment offers, property deals, and invoice scams all fall here. Because the payment was authorised, a bank will often refuse to refund it, which is why legal action rather than a complaint is usually needed.
- Investment and trading schemes
- A platform shows real profits on paper and small withdrawals succeed, which builds trust. Larger withdrawals are then blocked on tax, insurance, or clearance fees. The profits were never real, so there is usually nothing to trace.
- Romance and relationship fraud
- A relationship develops over months, sometimes years. A request for money arrives around an illness, a stranded shipment, or an investment opportunity. Almost always a photo of someone who does not exist.
- Impersonation of officials or institutions
- A caller claiming to be from a bank, a courier firm, or a government office explains that money must be moved to a "safe account" to protect it. No bank, courier, or regulator will ever ask for this. It is the single most common phone fraud.
- Marketplace and ticket fraud
- Goods or tickets are sold online and never arrive, or counterfeit tickets are supplied. Payment is often by bank transfer, which removes the chargeback route that a card payment would have given you.
- Invoice and payroll redirection
- Legitimate invoices are redirected to a fraudulent account, or a payroll is changed without the change being verified by voice. Both are treated as a standalone fraud and usually pay out where the bank failed its own checks.
Why people send a case here.
The recovery industry is full of firms that ask for money up front and promise everything. These are the things we do differently.
The fee only exists if we succeed
There is no charge for opening an account or starting a case. A percentage is due only once money has actually reached you. If a case recovers nothing, the invoice is zero.
We tell you the realistic outcome first
After we have read your statements we will say what we think can be recovered, and what we think cannot. That assessment is written down before you commit to anything, so there is nothing to be sold later.
We file through named institutions
Claims go to the sending bank, the receiving bank, the relevant ombudsman, and where needed the courts. We are not affiliated with any regulator or police force and we will never claim to have contacts inside one.
We will not ask you to keep it quiet
We treat your case as confidential and we never sell your details. But we will not stop you from speaking to your own lawyer, your bank, or your family. A firm that wants secrecy is a warning sign.
No claim of protection we cannot back
We hold your balance, and no deposit guarantee scheme stands behind it. We would rather you knew that up front than discovered it later.
Plain English, in writing
Every case has a reference you can use to check its stage at any time. You will always be able to see what we are waiting on and what we need from you.
Report it to someone who can act on it.
A fraud report is what starts the clock on a bank recall. The longer you wait, the likelier the money has moved. Tell your bank the same day, and report it to the national fraud body for your country.
You can also bring the case to us. We will look at the transaction records and tell you whether there is a realistic route to recover it.
Send us the details- Report Fraud
- United Kingdom. The national reporting centre for fraud and financial crime. Renamed from Action Fraud, which still appears on some older pages — if you land there, you are in the right place. Report at reportfraud.police.uk, or call 0300 123 2040.
- MoneyHelper
- United Kingdom. Free and impartial, and it will never contact you first or charge for help — a useful filter on any call claiming to be official. Financial Crimes and Scams Unit, 0800 015 4402.
- FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center
- United States. Reports of internet-enabled fraud and asset tracing requests. Report at ic3.gov.
- Federal Trade Commission
- United States. Consumer fraud reports, and warnings about fake recovery services. Report at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- Your national fraud line
- Everywhere else. Most countries run a national fraud reporting line or a dedicated financial crimes unit. Ask your bank first, then report to your national police or fraud unit.
Where your money sits, and who can see it.
Security claims are easy to make and hard to check. These are the ones we can actually stand behind, including the parts that are not flattering.
Registered offices: London, New York, Dubai.
- Where client money is held
- With Solariem, which means we hold the balance, including money we recover for you before it reaches you. There is no deposit guarantee or deposit insurance behind it. We say so plainly because it is a real limitation rather than something to design around.
- Identity checks before anything else
- Identity verification runs before an account is opened and before any case is accepted. It is a legal requirement for this kind of business, not a marketing feature.
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Traffic is encrypted with TLS, and stored records are encrypted at rest. We will not claim a certification grade of encryption, because that is a claim a client should be able to verify in an audit report and we have not asked for one.
- Access is limited and logged
- Staff see a client record only when the case requires it, and every access is written to an audit log. Access is reviewed on a schedule and revoked when it is no longer needed.
- We have no special access to anyone
- Solariem is a bank that also pursues recovery claims. We are not affiliated with any police force or government body, and we will never tell you we have special access to a regulator, a court, or another bank, because no legitimate firm does. If anyone tells you that about us, they are describing a different company.
- Complaints go to an ombudsman, not to us alone
- Clients in the covered jurisdictions can take a complaint to the relevant financial ombudsman. We would rather you knew that route existed at the start than at the point of disagreement.
Full detail is in the terms and conditions and the privacy notice.
Common questions, answered plainly.
If your question is not here, ask us directly. We would rather answer it before you commit than after.
No, and anyone who guarantees it is either mistaken or lying. What determines the outcome is who received your money, which institution holds it, and whether that institution will cooperate. We will tell you what we think the realistic outcome is after we have reviewed your documents, and we will put that in writing before you commit to anything.
Every asset, accounted for.
Open an account and start moving money, or send us a fraud case and find out whether there is anything to trace. Either way, you will not be charged unless money comes back to you.
